Terms of Service

Last updated: March 2026

1. Agreement

By accessing or using echo options (“echo,” “we,” “our”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. What echo Is

echo is an options backtesting and analytics platform. We provide tools for constructing, backtesting, and analysing options strategies using historical market data and volatility surface modelling.

3. What echo Is Not

echo does not provide financial advice.

Nothing on this platform — including backtest results, strategy analytics, payoff diagrams, volatility data, or any other output — constitutes investment advice, a recommendation to trade, or a solicitation to buy or sell any security. All content is for informational and educational purposes only.

Past performance shown through backtesting does not guarantee future results. Backtests are hypothetical, rely on historical data, and involve simplifying assumptions. Actual trading results will differ — potentially significantly — due to factors including but not limited to slippage, liquidity, execution timing, transaction costs, and changes in market conditions.

You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions. If you need financial advice, consult a qualified financial adviser.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction. By using echo, you represent that you meet these requirements.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Subscription and Payment

Access to echo’s features requires a paid subscription. Fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis. You authorise us to charge your chosen payment method at the start of each billing cycle. All fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

We may change pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

7. Data and Accuracy

echo uses historical options and market data sourced from third-party providers. While we take care to ensure data quality — including multi-stage quote filtering and volatility surface fitting — we do not guarantee that any data or output is complete, accurate, or error-free.

Backtest results are generated using reconstructed volatility surfaces and pricing models. These are approximations. You should not rely on any output from echo as the sole basis for any trading or investment decision.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the platform.
  • Systematically scrape, harvest, or redistribute data or analytics from echo.
  • Use echo to generate or distribute misleading performance claims.
  • Resell or sublicense access to echo without our written consent.
  • Interfere with the platform's infrastructure or security.
  • Use automated systems to access echo beyond normal API usage within your subscription tier.

9. Intellectual Property

All content, code, models, methodologies, and design on echo are owned by us or our licensors. Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for your personal or internal business purposes.

Backtest results and analytics you generate are yours to use, but the underlying models, data processing pipelines, and platform infrastructure remain ours.

10. Shared Content

If you share backtest results or strategy links generated by echo (e.g. shareable backtest links), you do so at your own discretion. We are not responsible for how others interpret or act on shared content. Shared links may be publicly accessible — do not share content you wish to keep private.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, echo and its operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or trading losses, arising from your use of the platform.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of echo shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

echo is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result will be achieved through its use.

13. Third-Party Services

echo may integrate with or rely on third-party services (payment processors, data providers, authentication services). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service. Your use of such services is subject to their own terms.

14. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via the platform or email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. You may cancel your subscription through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
